01

Before you start

  • Pick a slow day. A Sunday afternoon is enough for a shop with under 300 items
  • Decide the unit for each item once: piece, dozen, carton, kg
  • Do not try to enter history. Start from today's count
02

The count

  • Count what sells weekly first; slow items can be added when they next move
  • Write cost and sale price at the time of counting, not later
  • Photograph shelves as you go so disputes have evidence
03

Keeping it alive

  • One person owns entries for the first month
  • Enter stock in when the truck arrives, not at closing
  • Check the low-stock list every Monday before ordering
  • Share the storefront link where customers already are: WhatsApp status and the shop sign
