Short answer: check 28 notes whether a page mentions accreditations, certifications, ISO standards, awards or memberships. It's informational and never fails. If you hold real credentials, say so on the page and link to the body that issued them. If you don't, leave it: an invented award does more damage than an empty space.
What Crawl Audit checks
Crawl Audit searches the page text for the words "accredit", "certified", "award" or "member of", or "ISO" followed by a number.
- Pass: found, "Accreditation/award wording is present."
- Pass: not found, with the note "add if you hold any."
It's a word match, so "award" in an unrelated sentence also counts. It doesn't verify anything.
Marking up awards and credentials
schema.org has two properties for this:
award: "An award won by or for this item." It can be used on an Organization, a Person, a Product or a Service.hasCredential: "A credential awarded to the Person or Organization." Its value is aCredential, such as anEducationalOccupationalCredential.
"award": "Example Industry Award, Best New Service 2025"
Google's structured data documentation doesn't use award for any search feature, so don't expect a visible change in Search. The markup only restates in a machine-readable form what the page already says.
The rule that matters
- Only list what's real and checkable. Name the award or accreditation exactly as the issuer does, with the year.
- Link to the issuer's own page that lists you, where one exists. That's what turns a claim into evidence.
- Memberships count if they're current: a trade association, a chamber of commerce, a professional body.
- "Award-winning" with no award named is a slogan, not a credential.
We don't list any awards on this site. The company details in our footer, a registered company and its number linked to the public register, are the checkable version of the same idea.
